Protective equipment for welding jobs

In order to perform welding jobs with total safety, suitable protective equipment is required

Accidents can occur during welding jobs that can cause serious injury and significant economic losses. Therefore, in order to make welding safer and prevent accidents, the obligatory use of personal protection equipment should be enforced.

As much as possible, work clothing for welding should allow jobs to be carried out without producing discomfort and without affecting a worker’s performance. The minimum requirements that garments should meet are:

- Light and flexible fabric.

- Easy to clean and disinfect.

- Suitable for the temperature and moisture levels of the workplace.

- A correct fit.

According to the nature of a job, the company should provide workers with aprons, dungarees, waistcoats and any garment that will give added protection to the chest area during welding jobs.
